Harvest Celebration Sunday 13th October

At Harvest, Christians are thankful for the way God gives people everything they need to live. As part of this, it is a time to think about people who need a helping hand.  The Bible teaches us that we can’t just talk about loving God – we need to show it by what we do:

“My friends, what good is it for one of you to say that you have faith if your actions do not prove it? Can that faith save you?  Suppose there are brothers or sisters who need clothes and don't have enough to eat. What good is there in your saying to them, “God bless you! Keep warm and eat well!”—if you don't give them the necessities of life? So it is with faith: if it is alone and includes no actions, then it is dead.  But someone will say, “One person has faith, another has actions.” My answer is, “Show me how anyone can have faith without actions. I will show you my faith by my actions.”.” James 2:14 – 18 GNT.

Donations for our Harvest table will be received on Friday 11th October between 10am and 12 noon in our large hall. If you are unable to attend on Friday morning please bring your food items on Sunday 13th and join us for our celebration. Please note as in previous years, donations in the form of non-perishable items only – e.g. tins, pasta and rice etc.  All donations will go to Lodging House Mission
